What You'll Do
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with Priority Care Rehab Staffing, you'll help patients work toward independence in their daily activities under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist. Whether you're helping someone relearn how to dress themselves or supporting a child's fine motor development, you bring warmth, patience, and hands-on expertise that makes therapy both effective and enjoyable.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Carry out occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by a licensed Occupational Therapist
Work with patients on activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and bathing
Provide therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, hand strength, and coordination
Help patients practice cognitive and memory strategies in functional contexts
Set up and instruct patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Create engaging, purposeful activities that motivate patients to reach their goals
Communicate patient progress and any concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist
Complete accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions
What We're Looking For
Required:
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current state licensure/certification (COTA) in NY, NJ, CT, or FL
Ability to work collaboratively under OT supervision
Creative, patient, and encouraging approach to therapy
Strong observation skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
Experience in skilled nursing facilities and/or pediatric home health care
CPR/BLS certification
Familiarity with adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
Experience working with children (for pediatric home health positions)
